Assemble Ourselves
It is an unusual and unsettling time in our country, in our world. We see hate and evil running rampant. We see God’s people going with the flow and giving in to the pressure of society to just let things be. Many are being kept from worship at a time where we need fellowship with God’s people more than ever. We can worship God wherever we are, but He told us to assemble ourselves for a reason. “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” Hebrews 10:25.
We are to exhort one another, to urge one another, to inspire one another to act – to do what God has called us to do! And so much more, encourage, support, to help grow, to uphold, to teach, to hold accountable, to love, to strengthen, to motivate, to assist, to work together, to lift up, to pray with, and to share the journey. We need fellowship with God’s children. And yes, the day is approaching! Of that there is no doubt! Let God lead you to know when to stand and more than anything else keep your eyes on Him through this storm. And never forget the work He has given you is urgent and must be your priority. “And He said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” Mark 16:15
During this unusual and unsettling time remember God is your refuge. You will not find your answers or safety any where else.
“1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. 2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; 3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah. 4 There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High. 5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early. 6 The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: He uttered his voice, the earth melted. 7 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah. 8 Come, behold the works of the Lord, what desolations He hath made in the earth. 9 He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; He breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; He burneth the chariot in the fire. 10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. 11 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.” Psalm 46 KJV
